The latest UX updates, including ¼ widgets and the KPI ribbon bar for OS Portal, more new guidelines for components, and the launch of the IDS overview course on Infor U Campus.

2025.04 FEATURE RELEASE

Infor OS Portal: ¼ widgets and KPI ribbon bar

The 2025.04 Feature Release is set to include an especially impactful UX enhancement for all OS Portal users who design and manage dashboards: ¼ widgets, a smaller and more flexible size, will be available to development teams in the Widget SDK.

The ¼ widgets display KPIs and data-driven insights. They can be used only in the KPI ribbon bar, which is also new in this release. It’s half of the height of a standard widget and anchored to the top of the page. Workspace functionality otherwise remains the same. The value for end users who rely on KPIs, such as business analysts, include:

  • Greater dashboard customization, making KPIs easier to organize
  • Faster decision-making with the KPI ribbon bar, with key metrics at a glance
  • Improved usability and efficiency in OS Portal dashboards

Future releases are expected to allow for ¼ widgets that can be created with Birst and Mongoose—stay tuned for more updates.

IDS UPDATES

Component Guidelines, Get Started, and Access Permissions

Components: Currently, 53 of 86 total components have new guidance on the “Guidelines” tab. They include the common types of user tasks or interactions, specific usability best practices, and UX writing standards. See what’s available on the overview page—more updates are to come!

Get started: The getting started pages for designers and developers have just been updated. They include the latest information about how to use the Figma design libraries and standards, as well as the adoption options for IDS and how to install the code repositories.

Access permissions: As announced in January, access to IDS resources for Inforians, Infor partners, and Infor customers have changed:

  • Currently, access to design.infor.com is limited to Infor employees only.
  • Partners may request guest access to the website via the Infor IT Helpdesk, but they will not be able to access our Figma or Oxford/GitLab resources.
  • Customers who request access are encouraged to utilize the resources within their specific CloudSuite solution.

DESIGN

GenAI UI/UX Enhancements

We’ve been collaborating with the GenAI team to help ensure that the experience within Infor solutions feels part of the holistic Infor identity. The latest design evolution, based on cross-team feedback, includes an updated color palette—using Infor’s purple brand color—as well as a net-new secondary button and embedded system icons that feature the globally iconic GenAI sparkle. These enhancements will better support users in generating the data and information they need from the AI tools that Infor provides.
